6 Days and Counting

Just 6 days until Frederick. Not that I'm obsessed about the weather, but I've been checking the 10 day forecast since there was a 10 day forecast. Now, it's just the weekend forecast. What started out looking bad -- 60% chance of rain -- has dropped to 30%, with a low of 52, high of 74. Not too bad.

As for the week that was, just 19.5 miles last week, 1.5 off of the training goal. No biggie, though, I feel like I'm in a really good place for the week to come.

The scale is down a half pound this week to 232.2. I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to transform the big calorie burns this year into a lower weight, especially after changing my goal from 220 to 230 for race day.

Guess I know what I've got to work on starting NEXT Monday.

I just read your 10k post and it gave me CHILLS! Way to go back and show that course who's boss ;)

I hope to do that at the RNR course next year too!

You are going to run an AMAZING marathon this weekend Jeff!!

And I'm glad your speediness will help carry me next year at the Odyssey! :P

I posted a comment about training and weight loss really having different goals and modalities, but Blogger lost it. Which is fine, because the more I think about, the more I think what you really need is a set of body-fat calipers. I'm willing to bet this marathon training has changed your body in ways that aren't showing up on the scale.

Yes, I totally understand about the disappointment in the weight loss thing. April is my highest volume training month ever and yet I sit at the exact weight as April 1st. Oh well, this summer I am so going to lose some weight.

To answer your question...sometimes I do write a post in my head during a workout. They usually have rhymes or cadence to them. But other times, like today, it all flowed out at the keyboard. I did think "Bring it Granny" while we were racing and so that is where the title came from.

Yes, I am caught up now. :>D
