Deb and I got back from New Orleans yesterday. What a great trip. We had a blast and I've got lots to write about that later.
For now, thought, just a few updates on the week that was -- just the normal stuff.
I got in 26.75 miles last week, which was 3.25 below plan. On Friday, I ran 4 miles through the French Quarter. It was a great run -- temps in the 60's, very humid and a bit overcast. It was pretty cool, though, to run through the streets and avoid the potholes. I was far from alone out there as I saw runners everywhere. Saturday was my planned 12 miler. I decided to pull this one inside since that is a long way to go in an unfamiliar city and once outside the Quarter, I'm just not sure how safe the neighborhoods are. I stepped on the treadmill and immediately felt sluggish and started to wonder how my eating over the two days before was impacting my running. A lot, I believe. I had a tough time just maintaining a 12 min mile pace and getting to 8 miles was a real struggle. Even though I was 4 miles short, we walked at least 2 miles a day, and probably as much a 4 on some days, so the exercise was there, just not the running.
When I stepped on the scale this morning, I was most surprised to see just a couple of pounds up. The good news is that using a 15-day average works to my benefit this week as the average actually dropped 0.7 lbs to 233.6, a total loss of 180.4. Now, I just need to get back on the wagon and remember that vacation is over.
I have lots to share about our trip, and pictures too! Will take a couple of days to get it posted. Stay tuned.
L'Chaim!

Glad to hear the trip was a lot of fun. For a vacation you did very well with the exercise.
Welcome back. It's great that you kept up the exercise and only gained a minimal amount of weight. Well done.
Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a good time -- and even got in a few miles running!
Glad you had a good trip!!
Just letting you know the next virtual race is on!!
Glad you had a safe trip, and the milage is still good. The weight will shed off quickly.
