Moving Forward

It's been more than a week since the ax fell and I have been humbled by all of the well wishes and offers of help in my job search. It is truly heartwarming to hear from so many coworkers expressing their thanks for the work I had done and from so many readers with great vibes.

I am looking at this time off as a real opportunity. Over the years, I had thought about moving on, but there was safety in staying. Safe no more, it's time to get on with the search.

The plan is to work off those nagging last pounds by hitting the gym early and often, just as before. No reason to stop the pre-dawn routine. Keeping the snacking under control will be key -- I snack far more at home than at the office. Gotta change that recipe. I'm thinking Andy is gonna like me being around.

So far this week, things are going in the right direction. Getting in plenty of miles and boot camp to boot. The scale is even cooperating -- just 2 pounds off of my low.

There you have it. . . my plan to move forward. Looking forward to sharing lots of progress!

L'Chaim!

I wish I could help you in the job front, but I have nothing.

Unless you want to move to AZ and become a REALTOR.

Glad to hear your keeping your exercise and diet up.

And keep blogging. We want to know you are doing well.

Glad to hear things are going well. I too struggle to not snack when I'm at home. Funny that.

Good luck on the job search front.

Continuous good luck on the job search! I ALSO have that problem. I found a unopened back of the Hersey Miniature chocolates. I looked at it for a few minutes and decided to chunk the whole back then poured old nasty food on top of the unopened bag so I would not be tempted to reach in there and get it.. Should have seen the looks from my wife.

Jeff you have the right attitude- remember when G-d close a door he opens a window somewhere else.
Change is the only constant in life. Its a good thing.
Good luck and you know I am here to listen, and help in anyway I can.

JEFF!!!!! I had no idea. So sorry buddy.....I hope the next opportunity is just right around the corner for you.

I had the extreme displeasure of traveling to NC last week and laying off 26%of our very small workforce. It is just stupid out there....I am wondering when all the jobs will stop slipping away :(

HUGS to you, and be well.

If engineering was your bag I may be able to help you but I am at a loss for accounting jobs.

Good for you for sticking to your fitness plan and waging war on the scale.
